We only collect sensitive information with your consent or where required or authorised by law.

03

How We Collect Information

We collect personal information directly from you when you create an account, use features, make a purchase, or contact us. We also collect information automatically through cookies, SDKs, and similar technologies as you interact with the Platform. Where you choose to authenticate through a third-party provider such as Google or Apple, we receive limited information from that provider.

04

How We Use Your Information

We use your personal information to: (a) provide, operate, and maintain the Platform; (b) process and manage subscriptions and payments; (c) personalise your experience, such as remembering saved stations and preferences; (d) communicate with you about your account, updates, and service notices; (e) serve and measure advertising in the free version, and where you consent, personalised advertising; (f) analyse usage to improve performance and features; (g) detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents; and (h) comply with our legal obligations.

No sale of personal information

We do not sell your personal information. Where we share information with advertising partners, this is done on the basis described below and only with your consent for personalised advertising.

05

Advertising and Your Choices

The free version of Plugroo is supported by advertising, including advertising served through Google, such as Google AdSense on our website and Google AdMob in our apps, and other advertising partners. Premium subscriptions are ad-free.

Advertising may be either non-personalised, based on general context, or personalised, based on information about your device and how you use the Platform, where you consent. Our advertising partners may set cookies or use device and advertising identifiers to deliver and measure ads, and may act as independent controllers of the data they collect. Their handling of that data is governed by their own privacy policies.

You are in control

On our website, you can allow, customise, or reject advertising and analytics cookies through our cookie banner at any time. In our apps, you will be asked for your tracking preference, including the iOS App Tracking Transparency prompt, and you can change it in your device settings. You can also opt out of personalised ads through the choices below.

06

Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use cookies, SDKs, pixels, and similar technologies on our website and in our apps for essential functionality, preferences, analytics, performance, and, with consent, advertising. You can manage these as described in our Cookies Policy.

07

Disclosure of Personal Information

We may share your personal information with:

  • Service providers

who help us operate the Platform, including cloud hosting, analytics, email delivery, and customer support, under confidentiality and data-processing obligations.

  • Mapping and charging network providers

to the extent necessary to deliver location-based features.

  • Advertising partners

including Google, where you have consented to personalised advertising.

  • Payment and app-store providers

    to process subscriptions and payments.

  • Law enforcement or regulators

where required or authorised by law or to protect the rights and safety of users.

  • A purchaser or successor

if our business or assets are transferred, subject to appropriate protections.

08

Overseas Transfers

Some of our service and advertising providers store or process data outside Australia, for example cloud, analytics, and advertising providers with operations in countries including the United States. Where we disclose personal information overseas, we take reasonable steps to ensure recipients handle it consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles, including through contractual data-protection obligations.

09

Data Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect your personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification, or disclosure. These include encryption in transit, access controls, and regular security reviews. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10

Data Breach Notification

We maintain procedures to detect, assess, and respond to data breaches. If an eligible data breach occurs that is likely to result in serious harm, we will notify affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) as required under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.

11

Automated Decision-Making

We may use automated processing to personalise content, recommendations, and advertising. We do not currently use automated decision-making to make decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you without human involvement. If this changes, we will update this policy and provide the information required under Australian privacy law.

12

Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as necessary to provide our services and fulfil the purposes in this policy, or as required by law, after which we take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify it. Account information is generally retained while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards to meet legal obligations and resolve disputes. We may keep aggregated or de-identified information indefinitely.

14

Children's Privacy

Plugroo is intended for users aged 18 and over and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child, please contact us and we will take prompt steps to delete it. We will update our practices to align with the Children's Online Privacy Code as it comes into effect.

15

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal obligations. When we make material changes, we will update the Last updated date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
