Expect to pay a $10–$15 electricity surcharge — this is entirely reasonable. Check that the wiring at older sites is in good condition. Charging speed will be slow (7–10 kW), but overnight is typically enough to recover 70–100 kWh, which is more than most EVs can use in a day's driving.

Download offline maps and save charging sites before you lose signal
Mobile coverage in regional Australia varies considerably. Telstra has reasonable coverage on most major highways, but Optus and Vodafone can drop out completely on some stretches. The moment you most need to find a charging station is often the moment signal is worst.
